The Slingbox and Slingplayer now support Chromecast. Streaming live TV has never been easier, and using the Slingbox is currently the only way to do this on the Chromecast.
The Slingbox, the amazing little device that lets you stream your cable TV to a plethora of devices, now supports the Chromecast. This is the first time live TV is available for the Chromecast. If you have SlingPlayer for iPhone/iPod touch, SlingPlayer for iPad, or SlingPlayer for Android Phones, you’ll be able to team your Slingbox with your Chromecast device.
If you have one of those mobile devices, along with a Slingbox 350, SlingTV/Slingbox 500, or Slingbox M1, you can try sending to you Chromecast right now. Their support FAQ is alright, but looks like it’ll have some more documentation in it soon.
This is great news as this will allow you to simply bring your mobile phone (which you always have on you) along with your tiny Chromecast and you can watch live TV on any TV. This is great for hotel rooms, vacation homes or cottages, friends or families homes, the possibilities now are great because of the inclusion of the Chromecast.
