Fandango announced its first-ever subscription video-on-demand service will be launched on Hulu.
Fandango, which is the U.S. biggest movie ticket company, made the announcement during the Las Vegas Consumer Electronics Show, and said it would start streaming many original video series during the first part of the 2015.
The company recently attained MovieClips on YouTube, which is a movie and trailers network. It garners about30 million unique visitors every month.
Hulu is a website full of content with programming from all kinds of networks including but certainly not limited to: BET, Comedy Central, FX, Logo, MTV, Nickeloden, Spike and TVLand. The website came about through a joint partnership between Comcast’s NBCUniversal and Disney and 21st Century Fox.
Hulu subscribers will have access to the Fandango channel, which will have an awards-themed interview shown known as “FrontRunners.” The show is set to be hosted by Dave Karger, who is the website’s chief correspondent. FrontRunners will be a weekly movie recommendations and movie-focused programming series.
Fandango’s President Paul Yanover said the partnership with Hulu lets the company expand its video content onto other platforms, and meets an increasing demand for premium movie-related material for Hulu fans and moviegoers.
