The newest line of Vizio P-Series 4K Ultra HD televisions has been announced and they’re really pushing the bounds with features, quality and affordability.
Vizio’s latest UHD line up starts with a 50 inch model at $1000, and ends at a massive 70 inches which has an MSRP of $2500. Year over year Vizio aims to shake up the market with their high performance TV sets selling for remarkably low prices. The P-Series is no different to their pattern, it’s shocking to see the features and the price point they’re selling at.
Typically in the TV industry low price equals low quality, which is understandable. A lot of people are quick to dismiss Vizio because of their low price points, but the feature list they’re touting is one that rivals the top tier television makers like Sony, LG and Samsung. Without seeing their sets in person it’s tough to come to conclusions, but their prototypes at this past CES were quite impressive.
The P-Series televisions come packed with a quad-core processor, HEVC (which is h265) decoding for UHD/4K streaming. They also come standard with HDMI v2.0, and HDCP 2.2 for DRM laden content. To be short, you’ll be set for any Ultra HD content you want to watch.
One of the most impressive features included is the full array direct LED backlighting. This means you will have varying degrees of local dimming to enhance black sections of your screen. This means you wont have an edge lit screen which can cause light “bleeding” that provides poor brightness.
