It’s been a while since I’ve posted a HTPC build for under $250, and the scene has changed quite a bit. Below is new build that will keep with the budget HTPC theme, but be quite new compared to our previous builds.
Now like I always like to point out, this build is just a suggestion. It will work 100% as-is but please take the time to do some additional research and choose what is best for you an your situation. The builds I put together are always high quality and will do basically everything you throw at it.
Alright lets get on to it. Below are the parts for this awesome build.

This build will allow you to run Windows 10, or OpenELEC if you choose. It is also a good candidate for something like a linux operating system running Kodibuntu.
Please let me know in the comments what you think about the build, and if you would make any changes.
Thanks!

First of all, thank you for the guide! I’ve got a few questions (noob here):
– The SSD needs an adapter to fit right?
– Can I fit another 3.5 HDD besides the SSD? I read it has two bays, just I am paranoid.
– Can I fit a bluray player? If not, could you kindly point an external USB one?
Hey Rafael,
– Hard to say, but most likely yes. Most cases with internal drive mounts offer a slew of holes to secure the drive. SSDs are light and dont have any moving parts so even if you have 1 screw holding it in you should be okay. Your SSD might even come with an adapter.
– Yes it has 2 3.5″ bays. One is 1″ tall and the other is 0.8″ so ensure you mount the SSD in the lower height one.
– Yes, this case has a 5.25″ bay on it, which will allow you to insert a bluray reader.
Thanks!
